Admissions
The majority of children enter the school in the September following their seventh birthday and transfer from Yaxley Infant School. Arrangements are made for both parents and children to visit the school before entry. The nature and policy of the school is explained to parents, who are given an opportunity to see the whole of the school.
A formal application for admission to the school is required before 7th December, 2008. This must be made on the Common Application Form available from the school or the local authority admission team (01223 717391)
Children who are to be admitted in the September then spend at least a day in school during the Summer Term, in order to see their classrooms and meet their future teacher. Our Headteacher and classteachers also visit the infant school on several occasions, prior to transfer, in order that children feel comfortable about the move. We recognise that the move to the juniors can cause anxiety and so we do all that we can to ensure that children are happy with their future new surroundings and the adults they will be working with.
Parents of children not currently attending Yaxley Infant School, and who wish to apply, are warmly invited to contact the school during the spring term.
Parents of children entering the school other than in September first meet the Headteacher and then may look around the school, see the children at work and meet the teachers.
