We place great importance on educating the whole child and, therefore, provide as many extra-curricular opportunities as possible in order to widen each child’s experience. We are always on the lookout for new clubs to offer the children, whether at lunchtime or after school. If you, or someone you know, would be interested in sharing some skill or interest with the children do please let us know. All adults working within the school must agree, though, to a full clearance check. At the moment we have the following clubs running:

Drama, Choir, Football, Indian Dance, ICT, Hockey, J2U.

    Educational visits

Whenever possible, educational visits are arranged to places of interest and entertainment across all year groups.

    Instrumental tuition

There are opportunities to learn to play a musical instrument. In fact we positively encourage it! Let us know if your child is interested. There is a charge for these lessons. Currently we can offer: brass, woodwind, guitar, drums, piano.

    Visitors

We encourage visitors to the school, to share their expertise; these include musicians and theatre groups, as well as members of the local community.

    Book fairs

At least once a year there is a Book Fair at schoolwhen pupils and parents can purchase books.

    Concerts/Assemblies

We are keen to produce concerts, productions and special assemblies to give children opportunities to take part in drama, music and other speaking and listening activities. These take place at various times throughout the year.

    School Council

The School Council is a vital part of the school’s development. Council membersare democratically elected to represent their class, and consult all children inthe school. It is the forum where children have the opportunity to discuss life attheir school and to play their part in improving the way the school works.
